We are focused on helping students with Asperger’s, ADD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia …) and other learning difficulties by providing:
Tutoring – one-on-one hour sessions
Training:
Kurzweil 3000, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Inspiration, Smart Ideas, WordQ, Premier Assistive and more
Computer camps (See Summer Camp Brochure)
Tutoring: Success boosts self-confidence and self-esteem! We are dedicated to ensuring that all students experience success and an element of fun at the Centre. A certified teacher assists students in a variety of subjects and disciplines and an Education Assistant provides each student with the assistance he or she requires to implement the learning strategies. We encourage students to bring their homework to the tutoring sessions. This provides us the opportunity to teach students effective ways of using the technology to complete their schoolwork. These one-on-one sessions combined with improved study and work habits lead to improved performance in school.
The student achieves higher grades and the stress level brought on by frustration is reduced often resulting in improved behaviour.
Students enrolled in any of our programs may book free computer time at the Centre to complete school work or practice newly learned skills.
Assistive educational computer programs can help many students improve their grades.
However, simply knowing how to invoke these programs is of no real value. In order to use these programs effectively, students need to be aware of the various functions of each application and how to best utilize these functions to help them with their schoolwork.
At Tutorwiz Education Centre we provide the in-depth training students require to reap the benefits these programs have to offer.
Experts in the use of these assistive educational programs provide students with one-on-one training and conduct workshops for groups of students. For a period of time following training students may seek support via email or book time at the Centre to practice their newly learned skills.
